I was born and raised in Sudbury and I am so happy to be serving this amazing community. Growing up I was always interested in a career that had an artistic focus but I struggled to find something that was a good fit. When I was around 20 years old I stumbled onto baking as a hobby after making a birthday cake for my best friend. A few years later and I found myself pursuing an education at George Brown College in the Baking and Pastry Arts program. I lived and worked in downtown Toronto for a number of years while finishing my education. It was there I began my career in the baking and restaurant industry and immediately fell in love.
A Little About Me...

Anyone who has a passion for food and hospitality can tell you there is an undeniable satisfaction that comes from bringing others joy through food. Some of the most vivid memories and moments in our lives are attached to meals that were made with love. Christmas dinners with the whole family, backyard bbq’s with your best friends, or your grandmothers baking. Food truly has an amazing quality of bringing people together which is what I love most. The smell of my Nana’s cinnamon buns wafting down Channel street in Killarney every time we would visit is a memory that will stick with me forever.
This is why it is such an honour for me to help you create the perfect dessert for those memorable occasions and milestone celebrations in your lives. When I opened The Cake Guy’s shop doors in May of 2020 I never dreamed how rewarding this journey would be. I have since made cakes for so many different events and incredible clients and I can’t wait to continue making more.

So, thank you for choosing me and my small business to help you create memories that will last a lifetime!
Sincerely,
Michael – AKA The Cake Guy
